This project intends to stimulate the students’ self-awareness of the way they learn law more efficiently. It does so by providing students with 4 different learning activities to reflect on which works better for them, namely (1) a case to read on paper, (2) a case to read digitally, (3) a case to present, (4) and a case to solve. Immediately after each exercise, students are required to write a brief individual reflection paper on their learning experience. At the end of the 4 exercises (approx. at ½ course), the students will confront their ideas with classmates and write an overall individual reflection paper, where comparing the different learning activities. The opportunity for students to experience different learning activities and reflect on their own learning attitudes and preferences is an excellent way to stimulate their metacognition, i.e. their “awareness and control of thinking for learning”.
