This talk is by Meena Daivadanam, Uppsala University.
The complexities related to community engagement and participatory research in global public health are often unappreciated or over-looked. I work mainly with prevention of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and this includes a focus on setting up community support for preventative actions, including understanding the built (food) environments and how they relate to health behaviours. During this talk, I would like to present and discuss some of my experiences related to intervention development and implementation research within the field of NCD prevention. Examples would be mainly based on my research in India, Sweden and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Additional educational resourceNordic Global Health Talks is a monthly webinar series about global health research at Nordic universities, hosted by the Nordic Network on Global Health. It is free and open to everyone interested in knowing more about Nordic global health research, education and collaborative projects.
